I think that your groups presentation had a very strong structure to it with a lot of valid points. It's crazy to think they walked 2200 miles throughout 9 states!
It was very well thought out and it showed how much the Native Americans had to go through. It was very well balanced between talking and visual aids as well.
I loved the end question that sort of got us all thinking, of course I would hope everyone's answer was that they would not stand by and let it happen. The video gave a visual and really gave impact to these people's situation. Also showed a map which was nice.
All three knew the topic really well and showed it through confident speaking and even personal knowledge.
I had no idea that the Indians were pushed out of their land over the greed of getting gold. As Americans we talk about how awful genocide such as the holistic was, but we never think about what we did to the native people and you guys did a very good job of expressing why we need to remember and reflect on this event. You did a very good job presenting and keeping eye contact with the whole audience.
I also was not aware of the smallpox blankets, that stood out to me a lot. I had no idea how much pain and suffering those people had gone through during that time period.
On another note, you guys did very well with speaking and knowing what you were talking about. good job!
Great job on the deliverance of your presentation. I was surprised to hear that people were willing to help them back them but it was refreshing to hear that even then people had good morals.
The part about the Cherokee going to court over being forced to move shows how they tried to change to do things the way the "white man" did things, and yet they were still treated like ignorant savages. I think it shows the true state of America at that point when, even after the supreme court ruled in their favor, the President didn't enforce the ruling. Excellent job presenting all the information. You all communicated your points very well.
This was a very dark event in US history and you guys detailed that well in the presentation. The use of startling information really helped deepen the unfortunate event. The use of a informative speaking method fits well with the topic at hand.

ReplyDeleteGreat Job! I liked how you ended the presentation with the questions and i learned that the Trail of Tears National Trail was opened in 1987.

one thing i learned from the presentation was i had no idea that part of the reason most got sick was due to contaminated blankets.
