Exploration Six

In a tragic bomb explosion in Southern Afghanistan, Army 1st Lt. Ashley White was killed. But, not all of this story is bad. It made officials take a second look at placing women in front-line combat. They realized that women are sometimes very valuable because they can do certain things that men cannot do. For example, male soldiers are typically not even able to speak to the women in Afghanistan. But with women soldiers there, they can speak to them and possibly get vital information from them. This shows how the role of women in military is still changing and it's becoming more normal for women to be in the military.
