EXPLORATION 7

The speech that stuck to me the most was, The United Nations in the 21st Century by Kofi Annan. in his while speech he speaks about how in the 21st century will be dignity of all humans no matter what race or religion they are. " From this vision of the role of the United Nations, in the next century flow three key priorities for the future: eradicating poverty, preventing conflict, and promoting democracy".

Above I quoted Annan and how poverty was one of the 3 key priorities, and

*Half the world's 3,000,000,000 people live on less than $2.00 a day, Nearly 1,000,000,000 people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names. Those are just a few facts about how our country is slowly going down with either money and intelligence.

  1. It's really sad how down hill our economy and and education has gone. I didn't realize it was this bad, but knowing this now defiantly makes me think.

  4. Many of these people live in 3rd world countries which we have been trying help for many years. Americans give more money to charity than anyone else in the world.
